Oh No I Can't Get Up!

It has been three weeks since I woke up with a stiff and painful neck and severe pain in my right arm. At first, I thought it was due to sleeping in an awkward position, so I continued with my day, even going to the gym before starting my night shift at work. Despite feeling uncomfortable all day, I was able to finish my work tasks. When I got home on Sunday morning, I went to bed, hoping that the pain would have subsided by the time I woke up so that we could catch our flight for our vacation.

Despite experiencing pain, we didn't allow it to hinder us from traveling to sunny San Diego. After arriving in San Diego, we picked up our rental car and made a stop at In n Out before checking in at our hotel for the night.

Over the following two days, I continued to experience pain radiating down my right arm. I attempted various remedies, such as consulting Google to self-diagnose and searching for ways to alleviate the discomfort. I tried Motrin, cold and hot compresses, and even wore an arm brace, but unfortunately, nothing provided relief. Despite this, I was determined not to let it prevent me from enjoying a day at SeaWorld with the boys and visiting the San Diego Zoo.

After reaching a breaking point, I woke up on Wednesday unable to complete my usual morning routine. I contacted my mother to let her know that I required medical attention in San Diego. We promptly prepared and went to Urgent Care. Thankfully, the boys were supportive and assisted me during this time. At Urgent Care, it was determined that I had a pinched nerve. I was prescribed steroids and muscle relaxants for relief. Following this, the boys and I proceeded to Los Angeles to attend the Dodgers game that evening.

The Dodgers game was a great time, we went enjoyed the game with Jamison's Godparents and their daughters, but they ended up losing against the San Franscisco Giants, we got ice cream afterwards, and back to the hotel to bed. Our last day was another Dodgers game.

Despite waking up in pain, the boys and I prepared to attend the Dodgers game at 1 pm. It was a scorching midday in LA, and the heat was unbearable. The boys managed to enjoy their ballpark food before the intense sun made us all uncomfortable. We underestimated the heat and had to leave the game after the 4th inning. We then returned to San Diego to unwind before our departure on Friday morning.

On Friday morning, we got up and went to the airport. Upon arrival, I managed to take my steroids and muscle relaxer. Shortly after, we boarded the plane and arrived in Boise. After returning home and unpacking, I was able to unwind for the remainder of the day, hoping for improvement by the next day. I must praise the boys for their patience, understanding, and for contributing to the creation of wonderful memories during our vacation.
